Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., an international fraternity founded on November 17, 1911 at Howard University, has an illustrious list of notable alumni. Omega Psi Phi is the first predominantly African-American fraternity to be founded at a historically black college or university. The organization has chartered over 750 undergraduate and graduate chapters including the Omicron Alpha Alpha Chapter. The chapter, which was chartered by fourteen men on May 19, 1980 and is also known as the "Pontiac Ques," serves the community of the city of Pontiac, Michigan and the greater metropolitan area of Detroit. All members of this chapter are thoroughly immersed in the foundation that was set by the dedicated chartering members. The Omicron Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity includes in its membership two of the highest ranking African Americans in corporate America.

J. Ofori Agboka |
J. Ofori Agboka is the Executive Director of Human Resources at General Motors, making him one of the highest ranking executives at the 8th ranked Fortune 500 company. Beginning with an internship in 1996 while a student at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Ofori has built his entire career at GM, demonstrating strong professional loyalty. Ofori quickly rose through the GM ranks, gaining valuable human resources and supervisory experience in a variety of positions in the corporate operations unit. In 2007, Ofori and his family settled in Shanghai, China where he spent the next three years in HR management roles in global product development. By 2013, he was globetrotting again, moving to Zurich, Switzerland to assume the role of HR director for Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe. In 2016, he was recognized as a 2016 Automotive News “Rising Star” for his increasingly influential efforts as a young executive leader, mentor and champion for organizational excellence.

Jeffrey L. Tate |
Jeffrey L. Tate is the Corporate Auditor at The Dow Chemical Company, making him the highest ranking African American executive at the second-largest chemical manufacturer in the world by revenue. With oversight for Dow’s Corporate Audit department, Jeff is responsible for ensuring the adequacy and accuracy of all accounting, financial, and operating controls of Dow’s global operations. Jeff began his Dow career in Louisiana in 1992 and held a variety of accounting and controller roles before relocating to Michigan for several finance leadership assignments in Dow Automotive, Investor Relations, Performance Materials and Performance Plastics. In 2010, Jeff, who earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama, was chosen as a recipient of the National Achievement in Industry Award by the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA). In 2012, he was named to Savoy Magazine’s Top 100 Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America.
The Omicron Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. is very proud of Brothers Jeff and Ofori for setting an excellent example of what can be achieved. These two Omega Men are outstanding overachievers, influencers and dedicated executives facilitating global change.
